Under the artistic direction of Vania Vrondi, the Ballet Department combines the world-renowned Vaganova tradition with a structured curriculum based on the official educational programme of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (МГАХ), one of the world’s leading institutions for classical ballet education.

Imperial Russian Academy offers two carefully designed training pathways, allowing every student to choose the programme that best matches their goals, commitment and aspirations.
Designed for talented and dedicated students who aspire to achieve the highest level of classical ballet education or pursue a professional career.
Students attend 4–6 classes per week, depending on age and level.
Our structured curriculum is based on the official educational programme of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (МГАХ) and follows the internationally respected principles of the Vaganova Method.
Students have the opportunity to prepare for Russian Classical Ballet Examinations, conducted by distinguished ballet masters from the Bolshoi Theatre, and to participate in prestigious European and World Ballet Competitions.

At Imperial Russian Academy, students are placed in the most appropriate class according to their age, previous experience, technical level and individual ability, ensuring every dancer receives the highest quality training in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Age: 3–4 years
A joyful introduction to the world of classical ballet through music, imagination and creative movement. Children develop coordination, musicality, confidence, healthy posture and a love of dance while building the foundations for future ballet training.
Age: 5–8 years
During these important years, students begin structured classical ballet training based on the principles of the Vaganova Method. Classes focus on developing correct posture, flexibility, coordination, musicality, discipline and the fundamental ballet vocabulary in an enjoyable and encouraging atmosphere.


Age: 9–18 years
Students continue their classical ballet education through progressively structured levels based on the official educational programme of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (МГАХ).

Students have opportunities to participate in Russian Classical Ballet Examinations, annual productions, masterclasses and prestigious European and World Ballet Competitions.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have previous ballet experience, our Adult Ballet classes offer an enjoyable way to improve posture, flexibility, strength, balance and overall wellbeing.
Classes provide a welcoming and supportive environment where adults can experience the beauty and elegance of classical ballet while exercising both body and mind.

Every child learns differently. For this reason, Imperial Russian Academy offers both group classes and private lessons, allowing each student to receive the training that best supports their individual goals and potential.
Parents may choose group lessons, private lessons, or a combination of both.
Group classes develop strong technical foundations, musicality, discipline, confidence and teamwork, while private lessons provide individual attention, helping students refine their technique and progress at their own pace.
For students preparing for prestigious international competitions, auditions or professional ballet training, private coaching is strongly recommended to help them achieve the highest artistic and technical standards.
Performance is an essential part of every dancer’s education.
Each year, Imperial Russian Academy presents full-length classical ballet productions, giving students the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre environment alongside distinguished guest artists and internationally recognised ballet professionals.
The Academy proudly presents its annual production of The Nutcracker, featuring guest artists and soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre under the artistic guidance of Irina Lazareva, former Bolshoi Theatre Soloist and Teacher.

Students from both programmes perform in our annual productions and Academy concerts, while students in the Professional Ballet Training programme also represent the Academy at prestigious international ballet competitions.
Imperial Russian Academy students have proudly represented Cyprus at some of Europe’s and the World’s most prestigious ballet competitions, achieving outstanding success and winning Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, Finalist Awards and Special Jury Prizes.

The Vaganova Method is recognised throughout the world as one of the finest and most successful systems of classical ballet education. Developed by the legendary Russian ballet teacher Agrippina Vaganova, it has produced generations of the world’s greatest ballet artists.
